Fuel Subsidy Officially Removed by Buhari; Fuel now N145 per Litre
Earlier today, the Federal Government announced that subsidy have officially been removed from Premium Motor Spirit, also known as fuel that it will now sell for N145 per litre. This was also confirmed by the State Petroleum Minister.
My first reaction to the development was; Good decision but wrong timing. This move just showed that, the Federal Government is insensitive to the plight of Nigerians. The plain truth is that the government have just tripled the hardship of the common man.
The average Nigerian have still not recovered from the adverse effect of the increased dollar exchange rate. The way at which prices of good skyrocketed is quite scary to say the least. Instead of the Federal government to give us a bandage (increase minimum wage from N18,000), they decided to keep stabbing us.
This new government did promise us change; whilst seeking for our votes, they promised to reduce the petrol pump price from N87 to N45, create 3million jobs yearly, pay unemployed graduates N5000 monthly and above all, enact economic policies that would make $1 equal N1. Such a shame that it's the usual political parties gimmicks; all fraud!
Who are the economic advisers of Mr President or is our President now a supreme leader who derives joy in imposing untold hardship on his people as it is factual that an increase in price of Petroleum is an increase in everything.
The President and the political party he represents should know that one can't fool all the people, at all times.
Dear Occupy Nigeria, this is the time to show you ain't a political or bais group. God help Nigeria!!!
