British PM, David Cameron Says Nigeria is 'Fantastically' Corrupt
I decided to surf the net this evening to get a trending topic to discuss on; David Cameron popped up as second most trending topic on twitter (Nigeria). My curious self wanted to know why but I think I shouldn't have because am so pissed.
Whilst speaking with the Queen, the Archbishop of Canterbury, speaker John Bercows and Commons leader, about the fort coming Anti-Corruption Summit, the Prime Minister described Nigeria and Afghanistan as 'fantastically' corrupt. In his words; 'We have got some leaders of some fantastically corrupt countries coming to Britain; Nigeria and Afghanistan, possibly the two most corrupt countries in the world'.
Such a huge shame that Nigeria is being tagged with Afghanistan of all countries and worse still coming from David Cameron whose dad was implicated in the leaked Panama papers.
I love that fact that President Buhari is trying to fight corruption and I support his agenda as I am always willing and ready to give my 100% support to any individual that is tackling corruption to redeem the image of Mother Nigeria, but I still opine that he reduces his foriegn trips. The trips are not necessary and the joke is now on us.
The president should know that absence increase respect. He shouldn't make himself a cheap bowl for world leaders to spit on. If Buhari had decline attending the Anti Corruption summit, David wouldn't have the audacity to insult our great Nation.
David Cameron utterances is an insult to Nigeria and President Muhammadu Buhari. Common sense principle means our president wouldn't attend the summit and would also demand an apology but then again common sense is not common.
Regardless of the President's decision, I urge my fellow Nigerians not to relent; our little efforts in redeeming our country's image will one day be visible for all to see. God bless Nigeria!!!
