Nollywood top actress, Mercy Johnson is silently swimming her way into the corridors of power as her husband, Prince Odianosen Okojie is the official running mate of the winner of the just concluded Edo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primaries, Pastor Ize Iyamu.
Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu who defeated two other aspirant during the election primaries, will face the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Mr. Godwin Obaseki on September 10th gubernatorial election.
Pastor Ize Iyamu is described as a vibrant young grass root politician who has the good of the common man at heart. Findings show he is being favoured for the position by the people of the state and with a husband of a well respected celebrity as his running mate, the duo might just be on the way to the state house and this mean Mercy Johnson would officially be the first celebrity to be wife of a key political leader in Nigeria.
As much as I would love the star actress to be the wife of the deputy governor of my state, I hope she continues to interpret movie roles as she is undoubtedly one of the best movie stars in the country.
